Part 2 of the dance series was all studio work. By ‘studio’ I mean ‘garage’ because number one, I don’t have a studio. and number two, things got messy! I am 99% an outdoor natural light photographer, which you can see here in Part 1 of the series. So of course, this concept provided challenges for me both with the studio lighting and the fact that I have never done a dance flour shoot before.
Dance photographer Rachel Neville, who I was lucky enough to have photograph me as always inspired me both as a ballet instructor and photographer. I owe my dance photography to her.
During the 2016 Shoot & Share contest (an international contest for all types of photographers) Ken Greenhorn Photography from Saskatoon placed in the top 20 with his dance flour shot. So of course I was itching to try the concept. Check out how the shoot unfolded below!
